Mike Nieto established Catworks on a foundation of his experiences in roadway and commercial construction in 2005. Catworks has since grown to provide a diversity of services from “dirt to doors” as Mike says. In 2008, Mike joined the 8(a) Business Development Program and 4 years later Catworks was honored as the 2012 SBA Portland District Small Business of the Year and awarded the DJC DMWESB Top Projects First Place for Public Works. Catworks was also awarded the 2013 DJC Best DMWESB Contractor and the 2013 DJC DMWESB Top Projects for Public Buildings. Over the years, Catworks has successfully entered new markets—both geographically and segmentally, winning contracts with a range of federal government agencies.
The following letter from Catworks owner, Mike Nieto, says it best:
In January of 2005 I started Catworks Construction with the thought that I could help create a business unlike any I had experienced, a company grounded in simple, but powerful core values—a company that would value and embrace the uniqueness of each of its employees. The uniqueness of each of employee provides Catworks with great perspective and strength that fortifies our company in many settings. With these values, we will attain our goals, exceed our clients’ expectations, and provide our employees with a satisfying and successful career. We are not a company of ONE, but a company of MANY with one common goal. These principles will guide our future and provide the outline to keep us on the road to success. Catworks Construction has founded its success with this simple, but powerful recipe.
Humility + Dedication + Commitment = Success
- Humility- the quality or state of not thinking you are better than other people: the quality or state of being humble.
- Dedicated- a feeling of very strong support for or loyalty to someone or something: the quality or state of being dedicated to a person, group, cause, etc.
- Commitment- a promise to do or give something, a promise to be loyal to someone or something, the attitude of someone who works very hard to do or support something.
This is who CWC is at its core.
